Dear Western Heights Families,

We want to provide you with details on an incident that occurred this morning at our bus barn.

Two of our transportation/support employees were involved in a verbal domestic dispute at the bus barn. This dispute took place after morning bus routes were run, and there were no students present at the bus barn. When the verbal dispute between the two escalated, School Resource Officers were contacted and within minutes were on the scene. Our Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department School Resource Officers found that the male was in possession of a weapon in his vehicle. He was detained immediately and has been suspended from his position with the school district pending investigation.

The safety and security of all of our students and staff is our number one priority. We are thankful for our partnership with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department. This partnership ensured immediate action was taken. We are also thankful that no students were ever in danger during this situation.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brayden Savage

Superintendent
