School Board

Comprised of five members elected by District patrons, the Western Heights Board of Education enacts policy; performs appraisals of policies and procedures; approves provisions of financial resources; hires and supervises the superintendent; maintains public relations; and collaborates with the superintendent to identify methods for improving educational programs and District operations, and working with city, county, and state elected officials, and community organizations, on a number of mutually beneficial partnerships and issues potentially impacting the Western Heights Community. The Western Heights Board of Education meets at 6:00 PM. the 2nd Monday of each month at 8401 SW 44th, unless notice is given otherwise.

Emergency school closings will be announced on the major television stations and on as many radio stations as possible, as well as on our social media platforms and district website.

Dedication Of Habitat Pavilion

The pavilion at the Bridgestone Firestone Habitat and Outdoor Classroom was dedicated in honor of our past board president, Jann Davenport.  Jann was a leader in the district for over two decades as school board president until 2014.
